Brooklyn's Finest. Crime drama from the director of Training Day, starring Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke and Don Cheadle. The lives of three New York City policemen - a bitter veteran in his last week on the job; a cop who's desperate to raise money to have a better family life; and an undercover agent who wants a transfer to an office job - intertwine when they all end up at the same fateful location.

Dragged Across Concrete. Two overzealous cops get suspended from the force when a video of their strong-arm tactics is leaked. Low on cash and with no other options, they delve into the criminal underworld to get their proper compensation, but find far more than they wanted awaiting them in the shadows. Crime drama, starring Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn.

Taxi Driver. Martin Scorsese's controversial psychological drama starring Robert De Niro, Cybill Shepherd and Jodie Foster. Travis Bickle is an alienated ex-Marine, working nights as a New York cabbie. Haunted by the squalor of what he sees around him, he is drawn to the beautiful - and "pure" - Betsy. But his attempts to woo her prove to be disastrous, and he begins an inexorable descent into a personal hell, a descent that can only end in the bloodiest of climaxes.

Death in Texas. Just out of prison, Billy Walker returns to El Paso to find his mum is dying of liver failure, but is low on the transplant list. However, the Mexican border offers other, darker options. Drama, starring Bruce Dern, Ronnie Gene Blevins and Daniel Steven Gonzalez.

9 Bullets. A former burlesque dancer-turned-author discovers a second chance at life and redemption when she risks everything to rescue her young neighbour after he witnesses his parents' murder. Now on the run from the local crime boss, who happens to be her ex, she makes a desperate attempt to get the boy to safety. Thriller, starring Lena Headey, Sam Worthington and Dean Scott Vazquez.

The Card Counter. A gambler and former serviceman's spartan existence on the casino trail is shattered when he is approached by a vulnerable and angry young man, who is seeking help to execute his plan for revenge on a retired military Major - a mutual enemy from their past. Paul Schrader's crime thriller, starring Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan and Willem Dafoe.

Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon. A girl with unusual powers escapes from a mental asylum and rejoins the chaos of modern-day civilisation, on the hedonistic streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Mystery thriller, directed by Ana Lily Amirpour and starring Ed Skrein, Kate Hudson, Craig Robinson and Jeon Jong-seo.

Snitch. Crime thriller starring Dwayne Johnson. A father goes undercover to help ensnare the big movers in a drug-running operation and secure the release of his son who has fallen foul of mandatory sentencing laws, despite being a first-time offender.

The Saint. International thief Simon Templar, a cunning master of disguise with a Swiss bank account almost full enough to retire on, accepts one last job - to steal a female scientist's formula for cold fusion. However, he breaks his own golden rule by getting emotionally involved with the woman, leading to a deadly chase as the pair meet up in Russia and try to flee from the real bad guys. Action adventure, starring Val Kilmer, Elisabeth Shue and Henry Goodman.

2 Guns. Crime drama starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Two undercover agents working for different organisations are planted in the same criminal gang, unaware of each other's true identity. While getting in each other's way, the danger is that a powerful Mob boss will escape justice.

Panic Room. Thriller starring Jodie Foster. During the first night in their new home, a lone mother and daughter become trapped by intruders. Securing themselves in a safe room designed to protect a family under siege, they wait for the criminals to take what they came for. But the loot is actually hidden inside their refuge and the robbers will do anything in their power to get to it.

Welcome to the Punch. Crime thriller starring James McAvoy and Mark Strong. Hardcase criminal Jacob Sternwood pulls off a heist and escapes, but leaves young cop Max Lewinsky badly injured. So, years later, when Sternwood is forced to return to London for family reasons, a bitter Max is determined to capture him at all costs.

No Country for Old Men. Oscar-winning crime thriller from the Coen brothers, starring Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. After going on the run with $2 million from a botched desert drugs deal, hapless cowboy Llewelyn Moss is pursued across Texas by sociopathic hitman Anton Chigurh and ageing sheriff Ed Tom Bell.
